The London Racing Club 'Pattern'

The LRC like racing itself has a pattern. March has the biggest event of the year with the Cheltenham Preview which is held 'away from home' at the Royal National Hotel to accomodate the 200 or so excited fans of Jump Racing's Holy Grail who attend.

April sees us back at home, Jury's Hotel in South Kensington, for an Aintree / Grand National preview. May sees a Flat season preview and Ascot sees us addressing the runners and riders lining up for the biggest event of the flat season at that jamboree whch is Royal Ascot.

July and August are our holidays and the club returns with meetings in September and October, usually with a guest speaker, trainer, jockey or a high profile racing character.

November hails the begining of the jumping season with a National Hunt preview.

December is the time for the annual LRC quiznight. Watch out for the raffle this Christmas where we already have a pair of A P McCoy's riding breeches bearing his autograph up for grabs. The proceeds of the Christmas rafle will be split betwen DAFA (Direct aid for Africa) run by Barney Curley and the club to help towards the cost of the evening. Entrance to the quiz will be free of charge.

January for the past two years has seen us with a box for members and their guests at Kempton Park.

February is another meeting for a guest. Last February saw the briliant ex-jockey and now trainer Walter Swinburn and this February featured Nick Luck in conversation with professional punter and author of 'A Bloody Good Winner' Dave Nevison.
